Oklahoma has picked up some big commits in the last few weeks, but the Sooners lost one Monday. Dallas South Oak Cliff’s Jamile Johnson tweeted Monday afternoon he is reopening his recruitment and is no longer committed to OU.
I'm officially re-opening my recruitment ! I'm No longer committed to Oklahoma !— J.Johnson Jr. #?3? (@MilJohnson) August 4, 2014
Johnson, recruited as both a cornerback and safety, was offered by OU on an unofficial visit last October and surprised a lot of people when he committed to OU on Valentine’s Day.
Rumors swirled all spring he was looking elsewhere, most notably Texas, but Johnson remained consistent in saying he was committed to OU.
Last month Johnson took to Twitter to say how much he loves OU and is a firm commitment only for the news to happen Monday afternoon.
With Johnson out of the fold, it leaves OU with nine commits and one at cornerback in Pflugerville (Texas) Hendrickson four-star prospect P.J. Mbanasor. The Sooners are looking for at least one and maybe two more cornerbacks to fill out the class.
