Bright Goes BBQ-ing

Urbandale (Iowa) class of 2016 offensive lineman Caleb Bright attended Minnesota's BBQ last weekend and will head to another Big Ten BBQ this weekend. He looks back and ahead in this update.

Camp season extended into June for Urbandale's Caleb Bright. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound rising junior offensive lineman attended Minnesota's camp last Sunday and says he was happy with his performance.

"For the camp, I think I did well. I did not lose a one on one in run block or pass block. I learned a lot. The facilities were unreal. They took us around the football complex, the locker room, weight room facility, and the players' lounge."

The Gophers plan to keep in touch with Bright and monitor his junior season.

"Coach Olson, the G.A. for the offensive line invited me to a couple games this fall and junior days in February. They said they would start mailing me heavily September 1st of my junior year."

This weekend, Bright will attend Iowa's BBQ. He camped with the Hawkeyes earlier this Summer and has maintained contact with them.

"I thought I did the best I've done at all the camps. Coach Brian Ferentz says he really likes my hand movement, feet movement and said I have a really good initial punch. Coach Morgan, after camp, told me about the BBQ, and told me to keep in touch for that and that they'd get me up for a couple camps and junior day."

Another school that Bright has seen a lot of is nearby Iowa State.

"They said they will keep watching me this season see how I develop and invited me for a game this Fall so I can see more about campus and the facilities. I really like the coaches there and at Iowa and Minnesota too."

Bright is also hearing from Illinois State, Nebraska, Miami (Fla.), North Carolina, and others. Recommended Stories
