Boyd On Biletnikoff Watch List

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Tyler Boyd caught 85 passes for 1,174 yards and seven touchdowns, setting new freshman records at Pitt in 2013.

It's a third preseason watch list for Tyler Boyd. Tuesday, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club announced the Biletnikoff Award Watch List. Boyd was one of 55 receivers on the preseason list.

Last week, Boyd was named to the preseason watch list for both the Maxwell Award and the Paul Hornung Award.

Of the 55 receivers named to the list, Boyd is one of just five sophomores.

In addition to setting new Pitt records for receptions and yards, Boyd also established a new ACC record with his 85 receptions for a freshman, surpassing Clemson's Sammie Watkins, who had 82 catches in 2011. Watkins was a first-round draft pick of the Buffalo Bills in this May's NFL Draft.

Pitt has had two players win the Biletnikoff Award. Antonio Bryant won the award in 2000, followed by Larry Fitzgerald in 2003.

Boyd was an All-ACC selection in 2013 (second in the media poll, third in the coaches), and was also a Freshman All-American selection by six different outlets.
