Eric Snider, who has been an assistant at the University of Illinois for 16 seasons, the past six as associate head coach, is joining Dan McDonnell's staff on the Cardinals bench.

University of Louisville baseball head coach Dan McDonnell has found a new assistant coach.

University of Illinois associate head coach Eric Snider will replace Chris Lemonis, who left after eight seasons to become head coach at Indiana.

First reported by Aaron Fitt of Baseball America and confirmed by Cardinal Authority, Snider is set to become the Cardinals new hitting coach and likely recruiting coordinator. U of L has yet to confirm the hiring, but sources indicate that the hiring will be officially announced on Tuesday.

Snider just completed his 16th season at Illinois, the sixth as associate head coach. During his tenure with the Illini, Snider has recruited/coached five All-Americans, 27 players who signed professionally, coached an offense that hit over .300 as a team in nine seasons and had 100+ stolen bases in four.

A two-year letterwinner at Northern Iowa, Snider was general manager/head coach (95-98) of a college baseball summer league team in Waterloo, Iowa and an assistant coach (92-95) at Austin Peay.
