His most recent visit was to North Carolina for Fedora’s Freak Show.
“It was a good experience and I felt like I got a chance to show what I could do,” said the 5-foot-5, 160-pound Boykin. "I ran a good 40 – 4.4 O think – and also had a good broad jump. I really enjoyed being there and competing on their game field.”
Boykin is looking forward to his senior season and opes to help lead Havelock to their fourth straight state championship.
“I’m excited, but I’m going to miss high school,” he said. “My role will be a lot different this year. I’m going to have to step up and do more for our team.
”We have a chance to make history and win a fourth straight ring. We just have to play as a team and have each other’s back.”
Last season, Boykin finished with 455 yards rushing and four touchdowns, 661 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns and 543 return yards and two touchdowns.
