The Opening: Javon Patterson

Javon Patterson is an early enrollee so he plans to make his decision in November. Two schools lead the way for the Scout 100 offensive lineman...

Five schools remain in the hunt for Javon Patterson, but two are leading the way.

"Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State are my top five schools," said Patterson. "Those are really my final five -- I will pick one of those schools."

That decision will come later this fall before Patterson graduates Petal (Miss.) in December.

Two schools lead the way right now.

"Ole Miss and Auburn are my top two right now. I like the same things about each school -- the atmosphere is great, the coaches are cool, and I could see myself at either of those schools."

Official visits will be taken by the four-star offensive guard and he will see how each of his favorites plays this season, then figure out which school is the best.

"I just can't figure out yet," said Patterson when asked about the key factors in his decision. "When I figure that out, I will know which school is right."

Patterson is the No. 78 overall prospect on Scout.
