No. 5 - Watch These Two

Don't be surprised if QBs Deondre Francois and DeAndre Johnson turn a lot of heads at The Opening.

There are a handful of big questions heading into The Opening. It begins next Tuesday in Beavertown, Oregon.

The state of Florida leads the way with 27 selections. There are 162 participants in all. Here are ten story lines from the Sunshine state leading into the event.

5. Don't Sleep On These Two

I feel pretty darn confident that quarterbacks Deondre Francois (Bradenton IMG Academy) and DeAndre Johnson (Jacksonville First Coast) are going to turn a lot of heads next week. These two have improved leaps and bounds of late.

Francois really is the state's top signal caller. He transferred from Orlando Olympia to IMG this spring. His coach is Chris Weinke. You can already see the improvement. This kid already had a ton of talent. Now he's getting some unbelievable coaching, as Weinke is one of the best quarterback teachers in the nation. I could already see the difference from the Regional Elite 11 in Orlando in March to when I saw him in mid-May during spring practice.

Then you have Johnson [video below}], who to me, may be one of the most underrated recruits that will be participating at The Opening. He's not the biggest quarterback in the world but he does everything extremely well and I just love how he has been throwing the football this spring and summer.

The state of Florida has produced the last two Elite 11 winners in (Asiantti Woulard and Sean White). It wouldn't surprise me to see one of these guys steal the show.
