"I have offers from Florida State, North Carolina and UCLA," said Josh Brown. "Those are the main schools that are recruiting me."
North Carolina was his latest offer.
"It was kind of an unexpected offer," said the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Brown. "I went to the camp earlier this month and it was my first time working at linebacker, so it was an adjustment and I felt like I could have done better. But at the end, I started getting comfortable and felt like I was doing OK.
"The next day, I called (wide receivers) coach (Gunter) Brewer, and talked to him and coach (Larry) Fedora and they let me know I had an offer."
He is excited about the new offer.
"It means a lot and it's just a great feeling because you see that all the hard work that you've put in over the years is paying off," Brown said.
Brown has developed has become close with Brewer, who is recruiting him.
"Coach Brewer and I have developed a good relationship since my freshman year," Brown said. "He's always been always been a good coach, a great person to talk to and really cool guy. I've been up there plenty of times, so I feel like we have a pretty strong relationship."
He made a return to Chapel Heel for Fedora's Freak Show last Saturday.
"It was amazing," Brown said. "They're recruiting me as a bandit. I really enjoyed working with (linebackers) coach (Ron) West and talking to the coaches in general. We got to hang out with some of the players and that was also fun.
"It was a little bit different than all the other camps. We got to interact with the coaches a lot more and they taught us a lot. It was more like a practice. And then at the end, we got to play a couple of games with the coaches, so that was good, too."
In regards to upcoming trips, Brown said he will likely go to Virginia Tech next month before turning his focus completely towards his upcoming season.
