September 1st marked the first day college coaches could contact members of the 2016 class via social media. USC coaches were very busy Monday as messages and pictures they sent recruits popped up all over Twitter.

The first Tweet is from Caleb Kelly, a 5-star linebacker out of Fresno (Cali.) Clovis West. The second Tweet is from Kelly's teammate, Darian Owens, a 4-star wide receiver. The third tweet is from Lokeni Toailoa, a 4-star linebacker from Rialto (Cali.) Carter. The fourth Tweet is from Levonta Taylor, a 4-star cornerback from Virginia Beach (Virg.) Ocean Shores. All four recruits currently hold offers from USC.
However, there were two recruits that did not hold offers from USC before the day that now do hold an offer from the Trojans. The two prospects who were offered today were 4-star wide receiver Jackie Jones from Long Beach (Cali.) Poly and 4-star tight end Isaac Nauta from Buford (Geor.). Scout National Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons says Florida State is the leader for Nauta while Greg Biggins had this to say about Jones' interest in USC.
The #USC offer for LB Poly (Calif) '16 WR Jack Jones is big, told us Saturday night that's the school he and his family grew up rooting for— Greg Biggins (@GregBiggins) September 2, 2014
2015 Long Beach (Cali.) Polytechnic CB Iman Marshall announced via Twitter Saturday morning that he will take official visits to Notre Dame, Florida State, LSU, Michigan and the last visit will be between Texas and Oklahoma. Marshall asked Texas and Oklahoma fans to help him decide which school he should visit. He also notes the list in no particular order.
It doesn't come as a surprise that Marshall won't be visiting USC, as he has visited many times in the past. Scout recruiting analyst Greg Biggins reports that Marshall will unofficially visit Stanford, UCLA and USC, but dates for those visits are still being worked on. Biggins says that Marshall is 90% in regards to deciding when to take those visits.
Marshall is a 5-star cornerback and is ranked as the 11th best player in the 2015 class by Scout.com.

USC 2015 quarterback commit Ricky Town tweeted a photo with future Trojan teammate and latest commit Tristan Payton.
Payton, a one-time Florida commit, verbally pledged to the Trojans while on an unofficial visit over the weekend.
He is a Scout three-star receiver.
|August 8||7:00 PM|
The Trojans picked up their 15th commitment in the 2015 recruiting class Friday afternoon when Jacksonville (Fla.) receiver Tristan Payton verbally committed to the Trojans.
The one-time Florida commit is currently in Los Angeles, on his second unofficial visit to USC.
His first unofficial was in June, when he participated - and was offered - at the Trojans Rising Stars Camp.
With the commitment of Payton, a three-star prospect, USC now owns Scout's No. 10 rated recruiting class.
USC now has nine remaining scholarships to award in its 2015 recruiting class. (One 2015 scholarship has been awarded to current kicker Matt Boermeester, a blue-shirt recruit currently on the team).
Here is Scout's Amy Campbell's one-on-one interview with Payton from just about a week ago -- when he nearly committed on camera...
|August 6||1:55 PM|
Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro receiver Christian Kirk released his list of top six schools this afternoon.
The Scout-four star says his top six, in no order, are: ASU, Auburn, Ohio State, Texas A&M, UCLA and USC.
(Gotta love these kids, when they say no order and they mean alphabetical.)
Kirk remains as one recruit who USC continues to pursuit the hardest.
Very blessed to be in this position! Top 6 no order!?? pic.twitter.com/qEVjknygFX— Christian Kirk (@ChristianDavon2) August 6, 2014
|August 6||1:55 PM|
USC picked up its 14th commitment in its 2015 recruiting class when Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola defensive end Christian Rector gave his verbal commitment to Trojan coaches following Tuesday's practice on campus.
With the three-star's commitment, plus Sarkisian's announcement that Matt Booermeester will blue-shirt, USC's 2015 recruiting class only has ten more scholarships to award.
With 14 commits in 2015, USC is Scout's No. 11 rated recruiting class nationally.
|August 6||1:30 PM|
USC coach Steve Sarkisian announced the addition of Saddleback Valley CC kicker Matt Booermeester after Tuesday evening's practice.
The first two days of Trojan fall camp have been standout ones for Booermeester, who was 4-for-4 on field goal attempts Monday and 4-for-5 on Tuesday, including a 52-yard long.
Sarkisian said the staff is seeing from him in camp what they saw in him when he attended USC's camp over the summer -- and that is why Sarkisian put Booermeester on a 'blue-shirt' scholarship.
So there's redshirting, grey-shirting... but what exactly is blue-shirting?
It's an "NCAA exception" that allows a staff to award a walk-on student athlete a scholarship -- as long as he was a non-recruited athlete -- that will count towards next year's recruiting class.
So in Booermeester's case, he never visited USC officially and coaches never made a home visit, making him eligible to blue-shirt. He now counts for one of USC's 25 available scholarships in the 2015 recruiting class.
|August 5||9:45 AM|
Contrary to one media report stating Anaheim (Calif.) Servite receiver Equanimeous St. Brown committed to USC on Monday, Scout confirmed with both St. Brown and a source close to his recruitment that a commitment did NOT take place.
The four-star receiver was on Howard Jones Field for day one of fall camp, but he did not verbally commit to the Trojans.
|August 4||4:30 PM|
One-time USC commit Kylie Fitts, who ultimately committed to and signed with UCLA, will transfer from the Bruins program according to multiple reports including Scout.com
The sophomore defensive end saw limited playing time for the Bruins as a freshman.
Fitts was also took an unofficial visit to California on junior day. He officially visited Notre Dame, Washington, UCLA, Utah and USC prior to his commitments.
|August 1||1:45 PM|
For the first time in three years, the Trojans have all 25 of their football scholarships to award since the end of the NCAA sanctions.
Now six months (and change) away from February's National Signing Day, USC's 2015 recruiting class is half full.
The Trojan have 13 verbal commitments and need 12 more to fill the class.
Here is an updated look at current commits, the offers out, and where other recruits have verbally committed to...
|August 1||12:00 AM|
USC offered two 2016 quarterbacks on Thursday, bringing the Trojans total to three offered QB's in the class.
Santa Margarita (Calif.) four-star KJ Costello was a recipient of an offer as was Shreveport (La.) Calvary Baptist five-star Shea Patterson.
The Trojans offered Westlake Village (Calif.) Westlake five-star Malik Henry when he was on campus during spring practices.
Patterson and Henry are Scout's No. 1 and No. 2 signal callers in the 2016 class. Costello is the No. 4 rated QB in the class.
It's interesting to note, though... that Costello received an offer from crosstown rival UCLA three days before the Trojans decide to extend an offer as well.
With the commitment of Cedar Hill (Tex.) running back Aca'Cedric Ware, the Trojans are now up to 13 commits in the 2015 class.
Ware is the first tailback to commit in Sarkisian's 2015 class -- a class that is dependent on finding a few guys to carry the ball in a thinning position for the Trojans.
With Ware's commitment, the Trojans' class remains in the top-10 of Scout's national recruiting rankings.
Ware is a Scout three-star recruit. The Trojans' class has an average star rating of 3.69
The Pete Carroll fans will love this, but it's not hard to imagine why the former USC coach was so beloved by his players, recruits, and the USC fans.
While in Seattle on a couple day vacation, I had the chance to see the 'fandomonium' surrounding the Seahawks and Carroll.
From the music to the drills -- to the fans on the burm and out on the water, it was hard not to imagine how Carroll had the Trojans rolling during his run... and it one would be hard pressed not to understand how it was he was able to get his players - and recruits - to buy into his mission at USC.
|July 21||12:30 PM|
2015 Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast receiver Tristan Payton announced his decommitment from Florida today.
Payton is a 6-foot-2 190-pound three-star prospect who picked up a USC offer when he was in Los Angeles to participate at Rising Stars Camp.
I've decided to decommit from the university of Florida thanks for all the love— Tristan Payton (@tristanpayton6) July 21, 2014
|July 21||8:00 AM|
Duke received another commitment from the West Coast over the weekend when Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei linebacker Ben Humphreys announced his commitment.
He joins Moraga (Calif.) Campolindo tight end Tyler Petite in the Blue Devils 2015 recruiting class. Petite's choice came down to Duke and the Trojans.
As for Humphreys, he was yet to pick up a USC offer, but has made trips to campus and has been in touch with the Trojans staff.
An offer for Humphreys could possibly still come in his senior season... but that most likely depends on the college decision of a few of USC's top targets at the position.
|July 18||4:30 PM|
The Friday commitment of 2015 San Clemente (Calif.) quarterback Sam Darnold to USC bumps the Trojans into the top 10 in Scout's team recruiting rankings.
Currently the No. 9 ranked class, the Trojans have 12 verbal commitments.
If sorted and ranked by average star rating, USC would be ranked No. 5, with a 3.75 average.
The Trojans currently have the top-ranked recruiting class in the Pac-12.
|July 18||1:00 PM|
Scout's Greg Biggins is reporting San Clemente (Calif.) quarterback Sam Darnold has committed to USC.
Darnold picked up the Trojan scholarship offer following the public decommitment of 2015 quarterback David Sills in June.
Darnold, 6-foot-4 210-pounds, is a Scout three-star prospect.
He joins already committed quarterback Ricky Town, a five-star recruit from Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure.
USC now has 12 verbal commits in its 2015 recruiting class.
|July 16||1:15 PM|
Longtime - and now former - USC quarterback commit David Sills announced today he will play college football at West Virginia.
Sills, as you probably recall, committed to the Trojans when he was just in the 7th grade.
The 2015 three-star from Elkton (Md.) went public with his decommitment from USC just under a month ago.
The Trojans currently have a 2015 QB commitment from Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure five-star Ricky Town.
USC has also offered three-star quarterback Sam Darnold of San Clemente (CA).
|July 16||10:00 AM|
Talk about a recruiting dream come to life.
USC announced this morning it will play Alabama in Arlington (Tex.) at AT&T Stadium on Sept. 3, 2016.
Though there will be no home field advantage for the Trojans - or The Tide - just think of the recruiting possibilities.
The build-up to the game? It's already off the charts on social media with fans as well as recruits.
Then, there will be the game itself, which will surely be broadcast nationally, and which every top recruit around country will be glued to watching.
Two programs who just committed themselves to competing against the best - which five-star wouldn't want to join in on that?
|July 16||9:30 AM|
The commitment of 2015 Fresno (Calif.) Clovis North defensive lineman Jacob Daniel remains solid as ever.
The Scout four-star recruit recently showed off his modeling skills in a USC sleeve.
|July 16||9:00 AM|
USC picked up its 11th commitment in its 2015 recruiting class on Monday when Mission Hills (Calif.) Alemany receiver Desean Holmes announced for the Trojans.
Holmes, 5-foot-9 155-pounds, is a Scout four-star recruit, and the 253rd ranked player in the 2015 Scout 300.
Sarkisian now has two receivers committed in his 2015 class in Holmes and DeQuan Hampton, as well as two athletes - Taeon Mason and Isaiah Langley - who can play both at corner and receiver.
|July 12||10:00 AM|
He waited for a USC offer... but so far, it hasn't come. So, in a bit of a surprise early move, Honolulu (Hawaii) St. Louis School center Fred Ulu-Perry announced his verbal commitment to UCLA on Friday.
Ulu-Perry has made multiple trips to the West Coast from the islands this spring and summer - participating in the SoCal NIKE camp, UCLA camp and USC camp, as well as The Opening.
Ulu-Perry was named the MVP of the offensive line at the SoCal NIKE camp.
At Rising Stars, he was even awarded a top-performer award - but did not leave Troy with a USC offer.
Ulu-Perry is a Scout four-star recruit. He is the No. 2 rated center in the 2015 recruiting class.
|July 11||10:15 AM|
In an anticipated move on Thursday at The Opening, Herriman (Utah) offensive tackle Andre James announced his verbal commitment to UCLA.
James says his recruitment came down to Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA, USC and Utah.
James 6-foot-5 265-pounds, is a Scout four-star offensive tackle.
He recently participated in USC's linemen camp for a day before making the trip across town to Westwood to hang out at the Bruins linemen camp.
|July 11||10:00 AM|
USC made the top 12 cut for 2015 five-star Khaliel McKenzie, but it quickly became apparent that McKenzie would soon be deciding between just two schools - Tennessee and Arizona.
While the Trojans have to be disappointed they weren't the final option for the Concord (Calif.) Clayton Valley defensive tackle, they should be equally as happy the 6-foot-4 310-pound bruiser is leaving the Pac-12 conference... which means USC won't have to face him on Saturday's anytime soon.
The Vols were always the team to beat for The Opening DL MVP and Scout's No. 1 prospect in the West. HIs father and uncle both played at Tennessee.
|July 10||5:00 PM|
USC 2015 linebacker target Osa Masina announced his top five schools today via his Twitter account.
In no order, the Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton recruit listed UCLA, Michigan, Wisconsin, USC and Arizona State.
Scout national recruiting Greg Biggins says he's a bit surprised to see that Utah and Stanford didn't make Masina's cut.
USC made two trips to Utah during the spring evaluation period to check in on Masina.
|July 9||5:00 PM|
One of USC's top linebacking targets in the 2015 class, Porter Gustin, made it into the top 10 of the SPARQ finals at The Opening.
The SPARQ rating is derived from a combination of scores form the 40-yard dash, agility drill, kneeling power ball toss, and vertical jump.
Gustin, Salem Hills (Utah), finished 9th overall with a SPARQ rating of 130.44. Finishing first with an overall rating of 147.60 was Kirk Merritt, a four-star running back from Louisiana.
In the kneeling power ball toss, Gustin threw the ball 44 feet, tied for the 2014 Opening best.
Gustin told Scout he liked his scores in the early prelimary session, but wasn't as happy with his evening scores during the finals, which were broadcast live on ESPNU.
|July 8||10:00 PM|
USC target Andre James will make his college announcement Thursday during ESPNU's broadcast of The Opening finals.
The Herriman (Utah) offensive tackle will decide between Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA, USC and Utah.
At this point sources close to the recruitment believe the 6-foot-5 265-pound athlete is leaning away from the Trojans... and toward UCLA.
Keep it on Scout for the latest on James verbal commitment.
|July 7||9:00 PM|
A couple of USC targets will be announcing their college commitments at The Opening in Beaverton (Ore.) this week.
Pleasanton (Calif.) Foothill two-way standout Isaiah Langley will announce on Tuesday, July 8. Scout recruiting analyst Greg Biggins says the four-star athlete's choice will be made between California and USC.
Also planning to announce at the invitation-only camp is Herriman (Utah) offensive tackle Andre James.
James, 6-foot-5 265-pounds, is a Scout four-star recruit. He will decide between Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA, USC and Utah.
|July 2||2:30 PM|
With his proud parents and coaches looking on, Anaheim (Calif.) Servite offensive tackle Clayton Johnston announced his verbal commitment to USC today.
Johnston becomes the third offensive tackle to commit to the Trojans in the 2015 recruiting class, behind Chuma Edoga and Roy Hemsley.
The 6-foot-6 285-pound tackle picked up the USC offer following a standout performance at USC's lineman camp in mid-June.
|July 2/td>||2:00 PM|
In a move no one - other than perhaps the Blue Devils - saw coming, Moraga (Calif.) Campolindo tight end Tyler Petite verbally committed to Duke over USC today.
Petite is the No. 2 tight end in the West this year. He camped at USC last week for Rising Stars.
"It was a gut feeling that pushed me to Duke," Petite told Scout's Greg Biggins. "It was the hardest decision I ever had to make and I was going back and forth every day. I loved being at USC last week and had a great time at the camp.
|June 30||10:15 PM|
San Pablo (Calif.) Contra Costa defensive end Takkarist McKinley narrowed his long list of offers to just ten favorites tonight.
McKinley was in Los Angeles last week to stop by USC's Rising Stars Camp - where he ran a 4.45 40-yard dash. McKinley then made his way over to Westwood to spend the afternoon at UCLA.
Though he lists a top ten, McKinley told Scout while in Los Angeles that he will take official visits to Arizona State, Texas, UCLA and Oklahoma. His fifth visit will be decided between Oregon, USC, and Missouri.
Given the officials he knows he wants to take.. it's interesting the JUCO recruit named a top ten.

When David Sills decommitment from USC went public on Saturday it only took a few hours for the Trojans to offer their next QB in line in the 2015 recruiting class.
San Clemente (Calif.) quarterback Sam Darnold is USC's next target; the USC staff clearly wanting to take two QB's in the class.
Darnold's recruitment has taken off over the last two months. The three-star recruit has gone from three to 13 scholarship offers including Colorado State, Duke, Harvard, Nevada, Northwestern, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, Tennessee, USC, Utah, Wake Forest and Yale.
|June 28||11:45 AM|
Quarterback David Sills committed to USC when he was just in the 7th grade. But this morning, his high school coach made public the news that Sills is no longer verbally pledged to the Trojans.
West Virginia looks to be the front-runner now for Sills.
With the decommitment, USC now has 8 players verbally committed in its 2015 recruiting class.
The Trojans, for the first time in three years, have all 25 scholarships available to award.
Sills decommitment drops USC from Scout's No. 10 rated class to No. 13. The Trojans have the No. 2 class in the nation by star-rating, with a 3.88 average.
|June 27||2:10 PM|
Put aside five-star recruit Byron Cowart's list of favorite schools because in this story, it simply doesn't matter.
Scout's Jamie Newberg brings a piece of reality that reminds us what we're often missing when we think the top five is all that matters. (Okay, okay - in five minutes, you can go back to caring about favorite his schools).
|June 26||2:20 PM|
The Trojans had no trouble getting the top 2016 recruits on campus Sunday.
La Canada (Calif.) St. Francis four-star receiver Dylan Crawford is the latest to post his pic with USC coach Steve Sarkisian.
The Trojans have been all over Crawford's recruitment, offering him early in the spring.
|June 26||2:00 PM|
2016 La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat receiver Tyler Vaughns' recruitment is taking off after a stellar performance at IMG's National 7on7 Tournament in Florida.
But have the Trojans always been - and remain - the team to beat? Vaughns is often spotted wearing a USC hat while playing on the 7on7 circuit.
Today at USC, he was posing for pictures with USC receivers coach Tee Martin and his mother.

USC's premier summer football camp, Rising Stars, is underway this morning on campus.
Expected to attend are top recruits from across the nation, region, and Southern California. Here's a look at our insider's list of names...
Though USC is now off probation, USC has elected to keep the once pre-sanction fan-flooded camp closed to the public and the media.
Be sure to check in on SCPlaybook throughout the day. Our recruiting team will be bringing you all the latest on performances, offers... and maybe even a commit or two.

Under current policies, when a student-athlete is offered an athletic scholarship, it's on a yearly-renewal basis.
USC announced Monday, that as of July 1, they will be offering a guaranteed four-year scholarship to athletes in revenue sports.
At USC that includes football and men's & women's basketball.
Recruiting gamechanger? 2015 five-star Iman Marshall thinks so.

The Trojans picked up their ninth player in the 2015 recruiting class Sunday night when Long Beach (Calif.) City College receiver De'Quan Hampton announced his verbal commitment.
USC's current 2015 recruiting class is currently Scout's No. 10 rated class nationally and No. 1 in the Pac-12.
The Trojans average star rating is 3.78.
|June 20||4:45 PM|
2015 Orange (Calif.) Lutheran defensive end Keisean Lucier-South decided to make a little news this afternoon by tweeting his favorite 11 schools.
The Scout five-star remains a target for USC on defense, though he's rumored to be leaning more toward Westwood right now.
On another note, when is the last time you saw a recruit tweet a screenshot of their phone when their phone battery had more than a sliver of life left?
|June 20||11:35 PM|
The USC coaching staff is in Utah to instruct at the All-Poly camp, where top Trojan target Osa Masina is working out.
The Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton four-star just tweeted the following picture of himself with Sarkisian and his father.

Salem Hills (Utah) linebacker Porter Gustin earned his invitation to The Opening today.
The 2015 recruit remains a top priority for the Trojans.

It certainly was a spirited group at B2G's Elite Camp this week.
In the video below, John Houston grabs the mic to interview Serra teammates Khalil Tate and Malik Roberson before Soso Jamabo turns the tables on Houston.
There might be too much star-power here for one video.
|June 18||5:00 PM|
First reported by the LA Daily News, there's a new walk-on kicker at USC.
|June 17||6:30 PM|
2015 Gardena (CA) Serra defensive end Rasheem Green made his best attempt to narrow his list of offers by naming his top 15 schools.
He says it's in no order and USC is third on the list.
Green remains easily in the top 15 list of USC, too...

|June 10||4:00 PM|
USC 2015 quarterback commit Ricky Town was officially invited - and has accepted - an invitation to compete in the Elite 11 finals and The Opening on the Nike Campus in July.
Town was the last quarterback to make the cut in the 2014 competition. He participated over the weekend at the Oakland NFTC.
He has been hindered throughout the spring by a knee injury.
|June 9||11:15 AM|
The presence of USC coaches was felt over the West region this weekend with potential recruits.
|June 6||10:15 AM|
Concord (CA) De La Salle defensive tackle Kahlil McKenzie sent out an innocent enough tweet this morning, just trying to wish a friend a Happy Birthday.
Lost in the celebratory message though, is the fact McKenzie is DECKED OUT in an Arizona sweatshirt and bucket hat (Haven't seen a bucket hat since 1995...).
|June 5||9:45 AM|
Former USC five-star tailback Ty Isaac announced this morning on his Twitter account that he will transfer to Michigan.
Isaac decided to transfer from USC, citing that he'd like to be closer to home due to health issues with his mother.

Is an early signing period in the future for football? It's been a topic presented by both the SEC and ACC...
Currently, the only signing day is the first Wednesday of February aka National Signing Day.
Our national recruiting experts weighed in on the subject, giving both the pros and cons to an early signing period on the gridiron.
|June 2||3:00 PM|
The spring evaluation period is over, which means USC coaches are now off the road from recruiting.
The staff's attention will now turn to the Trojans summer camps in the month of June, when they'll host some of their top recruits and will be able to evaluate others.
|May 29||12:15 PM|
USC's top 2014 recruit Adoree Jakckson will be arriving on campus in June to begin workouts with his Trojan teammates.

With schools sending out as much mail as they do to recruits these days they have to find a way to keep it fresh.
One of the better posters we've seen sent out this year was to Iman Marshall from USC, in a 'Most Wanted' fashion.
This weekend, Arizona sent a pretty funny letter to USC target Kahlil McKenzie that McKenzie can in turn forward to a player he laid out at the Oakland NFTC.
McKenzie, a Scout five-star, recently released his top 12 schools (in order!). %%MATCH_36%% and Arizona topped the list. USC came in at No. 3.
|May 23||3:15 PM|
Well, here's a new one. 2015 Concord (Calif.) De La Salle five-star defensive tackle Kahlil McKenzie released his list of top 12 schools on Twitter Thursday... and you don't even have to guess what the order of the list means - because for once, a recruit listed his favorite schools in order of his favorite schools.
Imagine that. No mind games here.
USC is No. 3.

USC 2015 quarterback commit David Sills will be back in The Golden State this weekend to participate in personal quarterback coach Steve Clarkson's QB retreat.
Also expected to be in attendance? Former Trojan QB Max Wittek...however, that might now be up in the air with the small dose of controversy surrounding Wittek's delay of graduation.
|May 23||1:00 PM|
USC offered three 2016 recruits Friday morning, including Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West WR Darian Owens, and San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian WR Collin Johnson and RB Kirk Johnson.

USC coaches have hit the road recruiting and have extended at least two new offers so far, the first to 2015 OT Andre James. The second, to 2016 Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West LB Caleb Kelly.
According to the Scout database, Kelly currently only holds one other offer - from Oklahoma. The Sooners have been hitting the Fresno and Northern California area hard the last few recruiting cycles.
It should bode well for the Trojans that they jumped in early.
|April 23||6:13 PM|
Scout's Brandon Huffman is reporting that the Trojans have offered 2015 Herriman (Utah) offensive tackle Andre James.
James, 6-foot-5 265-pounds, is a Scout four-star recruit and the No. 14 rated offensive tackle in the 2015 class.
James now has over 15 scholarship offers.
|April 22||10:30 AM|
The Trojans moved up in the national recruiting rankings Monday evening when they received a commitment from 2015 Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern four-star offensive tackle Chuma Edoga.
Prior to Edoga's commitment, USC was the No. 28 rated class nationally. Edoga, Scout's No. 3 offensive tackle, bumped the class up to No. 21.
The Trojans remain at No. 2 in the Pac-12 behind crosstown rival UCLA.
The Bruins have six verbal commitments; the Trojans have four. The commits of both schools currently have a four-star average rating.
|April 21||5:15 PM|
USC coach Steve Sarkisian added a fourth member to his 2015 Trojan recruiting class Monday evening when Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern offensive tackle Chuma Edoga sent out the following tweet at 5pm PT:
WEST$IDE GET THE MONEY MAN. OFFICIALLY COMMITTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. #TURNTFUPSC !!! ????????— Chuma Veggies (@edogawd) April 22, 2014
Edoga is a Scout four-star recruit, the No. 3 offensive tackle in the 2015 recruiting class.
He chose the Trojans over %%MATCH_75%%, Tennessee and Stanford.
USC coach Steve Sarkisian took to Twitter shortly after Edoga's announcement…
FIGHT ON! #turnupSC— Steve Sarkisian (@CoachSark) April 22, 2014
|April 19||12:00 PM|
There's now ten months until National Signing Day 2015. USC currently has three commitments in the 2015 recruiting class including quarterbacks Ricky Town & David Sills as well as receiver Taeon Mason.
So when will the Trojans collect another commitment?
At least one could be on the way.
Scout's Chad Simmons is reporting that Powder Springs (GA) McEachern OT Chuma Edoga could be very close to making a public announcement regarding his commitment status. The No. 3 OT in the 2015 class recently made a trip west to visit USC and Stanford.
Prior to his trip, Edoga listed Georgia, Tennessee, Stanford and USC as favorites. After his unofficial with USC, the Trojans catapulted to the top of his list.
The buzz around USC is positive in regards to Edoga committing. The buzz in the South is that they could be losing a top prospect to the West Coast.
Keep it on Scout's SCPlaybook for the latest on Chuma Edoga… and for even more inside info. on his recruitment, go inside the SCPlaybook message board thread...

USC coach Steve Sarkisian closed the practice doors today to media and fans, but it's still open season for recruiting.
In fact, USC 2014 signee Bryce Dixon is making a rare appearance at practice today. He brought along with him Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure teammate and 2015 prospect Lavan Alston.
Alston, a Scout three-star recruit, has been making a splash on the 7on7 circuit this spring and has the potential to earn a USC scholarship.
He is also high school teammates with future USC QB Ricky Town.
|April 17||2:30 PM|
USC coaches will wait to go on the road for spring evaluations until the final four weeks of the period.
The spring evaluation period started April 15 and will end May 31.
USC concludes its spring practices on Saturday, at which point total attention will be turned to the 2015 and 2016 recruiting efforts.
|April 11||3:00 PM|
It certainly can't be a bad day for USC recruiting when Gardena (Calif.) Serra coach Scott Altenburg decides to take his Cavalier football team on a field trip to USC football practice.
That's exactly what happened at USC's Thursday afternoon workout.
Consider it one of those advantages of being an LA university, just a quick freeway drive away for some of the nation's top talent.
"It's a unique setting," USC coach Steve Sarkisian explained. "We're one of those rare schools in the country that we've got a great deal of recruits within driving distance of our campus… that's maybe one of the reasons why I think USC has been USC for so long."
Among the visitors was 2015 five-star DE Rasheem Green, who spent a significant amount of time after practice chatting with the USC staff. Go inside the practice notes for even more on who was at Thursday's practice...
The West sideline of Howard Jones Field has been stacked with top Southern California talent all spring long.
|April 9||10:00 PM|
USC 2015 quarterback commit David Sills made his way to Los Angeles from Maryland on Tuesday to meet with USC coach Steve Sarkisian and quarterbacks coach Clay Helton before watching a portion of the Trojans spring practice.
Sills tells Scout he remains committed to the Trojans despite taking unofficial visits around the country.
Scout's Greg Biggins has the exclusive inside scoop on Sills recruitment, where he stands with USC and where USC stands with him... and if USC is recruiting any other 2015 QBs.
Here are a couple photos Sills tweeted while on his trip. The first, in front of the John McKay statue outside of the McKay Center on USC's campus… the second, with former USC quarterback and Heisman winner Matt Leinart.
|April 8||8:00 AM|
USC went on an offer-spree this past weekend, sending out seven new scholarship offers. Five were to 2016 prospects, two went to 2015 prospects.
So should you keep staring at Twitter and the SCPlaybook message board waiting to see more offers?
Probably not -- at least for the rest of this week.
The spring evaluation period begins April 15 and runs through May 31, which means coaches will most likely hold off on offering any more recruits since they will be seeing the player during the evaluation period and extend any potential offer.
|April 6||8:20 PM|
USC offered 2015 Salem (Utah) Salem Hills outside linebacker Porter Gustin on Sunday while he was on an unofficial visit to USC.
Gustin is the seventh new offer for the Trojans this week.
Here's a bit of the backstory on Gustin, who up until a month ago was easily one of -- if not the biggest -- sleeper in the 2015 recruiting class.
Now, the buzz is that Gustin could be one of the most sought after recruits of the year.
Scout's Brandon Huffman spoke with Gustin about his offer from the Trojans and will have a complete update on his unofficial visit to USC.
Invited to USC by Coach Tui today! On our way there now from CAL. Looking forward to meeting the Staff In the morning.— Porter Gustin (@portgus15) April 6, 2014
|April 5||3:15 PM|
A flurry of offers went out to 2016 prospects during Saturday afternoon's USC spring practice.
Included in the offer list are: La Puenta (Calif.) Bishop Amat athletes Tyler Vaughns and Trevon Sidney, La Canada (Calif.) St. Francis receiver Dylan Crawford, and Downey (Calif.) outside linebacker Darrian Franklin.
All four of these recruits were on unofficial visits and watched the Trojans practice from the sideline.
The Trojans also offered 2016 Rialto (Calif.) Carter middle linebacker Lokeni Toailoa. Toailoa was not at Saturday's practice.
|April 5||3:00 PM|
USC 2015 quarterback commit Ricky Town of Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure was in Atlanta on Saturday to participate in the Golden Arm Challenge. Scout's Chad Simmons was on location for the event...
Here's a quick afternoon update from Simmons on Town's performance - both mind and arm. More to come this week. Town throws in ATL
|April 3||7:38 PM|
USC 2015 quarterback commit David Sills of Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy was expecting to be at USC today and was planning to watch the Trojans spring practice.
But Sills was nowhere to be found.. in fact, he didn't make the trip.
Scout's Greg Biggins has the inside details: the latest on David Sills
|April 3||11:00 AM|
2015 Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern four-star OT Chuma Edoga has arrived at USC, tweeting the below picture of the Coliseum.
From the sounds of his chatter with friends through Twitter, sounds like he's pretty impressed with what he's seeing.

|April 3||8:45 AM|
USC will have two important unofficial visitors on campus today.
Power Spring (Ga.) McEachern four-star offensive tackle Chuma Edoga is in town. Edoga is down to four schools, Georgia, Tennessee, Stanford, and USC. He's currently out west to check out the Cardinal and Trojans.
Edoga, 6-foot-4 266-pounds, has a May 25 announcement set.
Also on campus today is USC's first commit of the 2015 class, Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian quarterback David Sills. Not many…okay, no one… thought Sills would end up at USC after the commitment of 2015 five-star quarterback Ricky Town… but now, not so fast.
Scout is reporting that coach Steve Sarkisian has renewed interest in keeping Sills commitment, but now it's time to play catchup since the Trojans stopped recruiting him when the new staff took over. Biggest question now, can they make up ground lost over the last couple of months?
Both recruits will also be at today's afternoon spring practice.
|April 2||11:15 AM|
We're getting into that 7on7 time of the year when we are literally watching recruits in a tournament or camp every single weekend.
So…sometimes there's nothing new. Literally. But 2015 five-star John Houston and I decided to chat anyway. Epic fail on my part, not asking about his Twitter impostor who committed to the Trojans.
|Mar. 28||11:15 AM|
The parade of recruits through USC's first five spring practices has been nothing less than impressive.
On Thursday, a rough estimate had about 75 recruits, coaches, and parents lining the West side of Howard Jones practice field.
For a list of the top-tier recruits in attendance, be sure to check out the practice notes here. Here's a tweet by one recruit who was on campus, 2015 Napa (Calif.) receiver Austin Aaron.
|Mar. 26||12:32 PM|
It seems like 2015 recruiting just got here, but 2016 is clearly already on the docket inside the USC football offices.
As reported by Scout's Brandon Huffman, San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian receiver Collin Johnson is the latest 2016 prospect to pick up a USC offer. Johnson, just a high school sophomore, is 6-foot-4 195-pounds.
He's the sixth 2016 recruit to pick up an offer from the Trojans, according to Scout. The offers breakdown like this: one quarterback, three receivers, and two linebackers.
But remember, De'Le Harding of Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian picked up his offer from the previous staff, so it will be something to watch if the new staff continues with his recruitment.
For those tracking in vs. out of state offers, 4 of the 6 are in California.
|Mar. 26||11:00 AM|
I know there's a few eagle eyes out there… I didn't catch this editing the first time around, but check out the Trojan Blitz around the 20 second mark here for a peek at some practice visitors who held nothing back including a "Fight On"...
|Mar. 25||9:30 PM|
It might have been a John Houston Twitter impostor who committed to USC on the social media site Monday evening, but it was no Houston impostor at Tuesday's USC practice.
2015 Gardena (Calif.) Serra linebacker John Houston made his way to USC's campus with 2014 USC signee and Serra teammate Adoree Jackson.
Houston, a five-star recruit, was greeted by most of the Trojan coaching staff throughout practice, including USC athletic director Pat Haden.
Other recruits in attendance included USC signees Damien Mama (Who has now been at all four practices) and Malik Dorton of St. John Bosco high school as well as Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw receiver Ajene Harris. 2015 verbal commit Ricky Town of Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure was also at practice.
As for the 2015 and 2016 uncommitted recruits checking out the Trojans on Tuesday? Los Angeles (Cailf.) Windward four-star offensive tackle Roy Hemsley, who was wearing a big USC sweatshirt and his high school teammate, 2016 linebacker Breland Brandt, who recently picked up a USC offer, were watching practice from the sideline.
|Mar. 20||4:30 PM|
It's no secret USC 2014 five-star signee Adoree Jackson has multiple ambitions. He's determined to make it to the NFL after his time at USC and he's also circled the 2016 Olympics on his calendar, hoping to go to Rio to compete in the long jump.
Jackson has even thought beyond his NFL and Olympic dreams, telling me at the SoCal Nike Camp he wants to get into broadcasting when his playing days are over.
So, he interviewed me… to get a jump start on his demo-reel… and I found out, it's not easy to be the one questioned!
|Mar. 17||11:40 AM|
2014 Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco offensive lineman Damien Mama might be a five-star recruit who will be anchoring the offensive line at USC for years to come… but what about after football? Check the broadcast booth.
Mama grabbed my Fox Sports mic at the SoCal NIKE Camp to interview 2015 Gardena (Calif.) Serra DE Rasheem Green. Green is a top Trojan target and stopped by USC practice this week.
|Mar. 17||10:00 AM|
The Gators may be the current favorite for Seffner (Fla.) Armwood five-star DE Byron Cowart. But USC is certainly in the mix.
The Cowart to USC connection? Sophomore Trojan safety Leon McQuay. McQuay was a high school teammate of Cowart's at Armwood. "I know I'll get to USC because I'm close to Leon," Cowart recently told Scout.
The 6-foot-4 246-pound prospect was a force to be reckoned with this past week at the NFTC in Orlando. Read more about that in Jamie Newberg's notebook from the Nike camp.
|Mar. 17||9:30 AM|
What a way to start the week, with a 4.4 rattler here in Los Angeles at around 6:30 this morning.
Which means, time to get to work! I've got a complete update on the latest list of 2015 offers… be sure to check it out.
|Mar. 14||12:40 PM|
Scout's Amy Campbell is reporting another USC offer in the state of Florida. This time, it's Citra (Fla.) North Marion MLB De'Amontae Jackson. He's a Scout three-star and the No. 10 rated MLB in the 2015 class.
His offer list is very impressive, including multiple SEC and ACC offers.
|Mar. 14||11:00 AM|
USC held its pro day on Wednesday. It did not draw nearly the buzz it did a year ago when Matt Barkley, Robert Woods, TJ McDonald, and Nickell Robey and a handful of other players participated.
Nevertheless, all 32 NFL teams were on campus to check out USC's prospects, headlined by Marqise Lee.
How much of an impact on recruiting do you think it has when recruits see this information? USC leading the way in players drafted in the first round.
Who from the class of 2014 do you think is a future NFL player?
|Mar. 14||8:20 AM|
The buzz that died with USC recruiting a year ago is back in a big way.
At Tuesday's practice, 2016 Westlake Village (Calif.) Westlake quarterback Malik Henry. A four-star prospect, who picked up a USC offer while on campus.
At Thursday's practice was top 2015 target Gardena (Calif.) Serra DE Rasheem Green, with his Serra teammate new pal Caleb Wilson - who is the son of USC defensive line coach Chris Wilson.
Westlake Village (Calif.) Oak's Christian DE Trevor Howard was also at practice. Howard's recruitment most likely to pick up since his dominating performance on the defensive line at the SoCal NIKE camp. Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral OL Veehal Tuihalamaka was also at Thursday's practice.
Check out the video of OL/DL one-on-ones from the camp to see Howard & Tuihalamaka in action…

It's officially - officially - safe to say, USC's new coaching staff is trying to keep that jet path from Los Angeles to Florida open… after all, it did give them defensive end Leonard Williams, receiver Nelson Agholor, and former cornerback Nickell Robey -- amongst others.
USC extended another offer out to a Florida kid this morning, offering Orlando (Fla.) Lake Nona receiver Deondre Farrier.
Farrier is a Scout three-star recruit who has been verbally committed to Florida since December.

As USC embarks on its first complete recruiting class in the past three years, Scout takes a look at the last five years of recruiting in the NCAA.
With 15 scholarships available in 2012, 2013, and 2014, USC was still able to stay in the top five programs over the last five years --- signing 14 five-stars… all that, with ten fewer scholarships.
In 2015 the Trojans have all 25.
How high will they climb on this list in the next five years?
|Mar. 10||8:46 PM|
A big thanks to premium subscriber "Ohogain" for pointing out a new offer reported on the Scout network.
The Trojans are in it for 2015 Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln receiver John Burt. Burt is a 6-foot-4 170-pound receiver.
Here's an update -- dated March 1 -- from the Scout network of team sites on Burt's recruitment.
He lists USC as an offer but it doesn't sound as though his interest in moving to the West Coast is that high.
|Mar. 9||6:35 PM|
2014 Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco five-star and USC signee Damien Mama dropped by the Los Angeles NFTC Sunday afternoon. He grabbed my mic to interview USC recruit, 2015 Gardena (Calif.) Serra defensive end Rasheem Greene.
Other USC players and signees making an appearance at the camp held in Redondo Sunday? 2014 signees Viane Talamaivao, Adoree Jackson, Jalen Greene, and senior tight end Chris Wilson.
What do you think Damien was asking Rasheem? We'll find out soon -- of course I was rolling on it!
|Mar. 8||1:55 PM|
USC extended an offer this morning to 2015 running back Malik Lovette during his unofficial visit to campus.
Also on campus today was 2016 Rialto (Calif.) Carter linebacker Lokeni Toailoa. The current sophomore holds offers already from ASU, Cal, Colorado, UCLA, UW, and WSU.
He tweeted this picture from his visit:
|Mar. 8||10:00 AM|
2015 Redlands (Calif.) East Valley running back Malik Lovette picked up a USC offer while on an unofficial visit on campus with the Trojans Saturday morning.
USC is the 11th offer for the 5-foot-11, 175-pound back who we once listed as a receiver. Lovette is more natural at running back and that's where he's picking up his offers.
USC joins the mix with ASU, Boise State California, Colorado, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCLA, UW, and WSU.
Lovette will be at Sunday's Los Angeles NFTC.
Update from Lovette's instagram page:

Do you think USC coaches use this piece of information when recruiting the top national talent? USC is tied with Notre Dame and Ohio State, producing the most Heisman Winners with seven.
Need a reminder who they are?

|Mar. 7||4:30 PM|
After offering some of the top national talent, USC turned its attention local once again on Friday afternoon, offering at least three prospects.
2015 Encino (Calif.) Crespi defensive tackle Vaimoa Sekona
2015 Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola defensive end Christian Rector, 2016 Los Angeles (Calif.) Windward linebacker Breland Brandt
