Norton back on the market

Two-way lineman Kenrick Norton committed to Florida State a few months ago, but the Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian standout has decided to explore some other options. Get the latest on Norton here.

Three-star lineman Kendrick Norton is no longer committed to Florida State. He says there were a number of factors involved in his decision to open his recruitment back up.

"A lot of different things went into it. They weren't too fond of me taking visits and just things like that that made me want to go ahead and decommit," Norton said.

The Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian 2015 standout lineman visited Florida earlier this week and returned to watch camp on Saturday. He's quite familiar with the Gators program and enjoys his visits to Gainesville.

"It was good, I got a chance to talk to (defensive line) coach (Brad) Lawing a lot. They were really excited about me decommitting, that they were back in the game.," Norton said.

"They just said there's an opportunity for me to play early there because they're losing a lot of guys and no one guarantees a spot in the starting lineup. I talked to coach Lawing, we watched some film, and just hung out."

The 6-foot-2, 280-pound lineman says he's highly considering Florida, Auburn, and Alabama. He recently visited Auburn for Big Cat Weekend and he hasn't seen Alabama lately but hopes to visit in the near future.

"I just kind of wing it, I don't really have too many visit dates set up," he said.

Norton doesn't plan to make a final decision until much closer to National Signing Day.

"I'm not going to commit until the Under Armor Game. It'll be just where I'm most comfortable and where I have the best chance of getting a good education and making it to the next level," he said.
