2015 Jackson preps for playoffs

Will Jackson

High major schools are already showing interest in 2015 guard Will Jackson. Who has stopped by his school?

2015 guard Will Jackson is preparing for the state playoffs.

Jackson, a 6-foot-5 guard out of Athens (Ga.) Christian, has his first playoff game this weekend.

"Our season is going well," Jackson told Scout.com. "We have our first state playoff on Saturday. We are going into the playoffs ranked 4th. We are doing well."

Individually, Jackson said he's performing at a high level and looking to lead his teammates.

"I'm doing very well," he said. "I'm stepping up as a leader because we lost a lot of seniors. I'm leading our team because most of our team is sophomores."

"I'm getting my team involved and mostly making everybody better," he added. "Also I'm allowing myself to score and take over."

A number of schools have stopped in to see Jackson this year, including Alabama this past week.

"I've been getting a lot letters," Jackson said. "Alabama came to my last game. Georgia has been to all my games. Georgia Tech has been in. I had a scout from Virginia Tech come by."

Jackson also said UNC reached out to his high school coach.

"My coach has talked to North Carolina," Jackson said. "They called him. They just told him they are looking at me and are going to start recruiting me. They sent me a letter too."

To date, Jackson has only been to Georgia and says he's gotten to know their staff quite well.

"I've been to a lot of practices and I've been to game," Jackson said

Even though he has early attention, Jackson is planning to wait out the process.

"It's still early," he said. "I'm just waiting. I love every minute of it. It's just nice. It's everything I've dreamed of. I'm going to a great Christian school."

Jackson will run with the Georgia Stars during spring and summer ball.
