Talented trio commits to UF

Christian Miller

Florida had a lot of success over the weekend in recruiting and they picked up three commitments. Find out what they Gators are getting here.

The University of Florida saw their commitment list grow from four to seven over the weekend and Scout breaks down their new trio here.

Travaris Dorsey | OG | 6-3/305 | Jacksonville (FL) Raines
Dorsey

Scout's Take: Dorsey is a very strong interior offensive lineman. He is a drive blocker, someone who can control the man in front of him with his hands, and he is an OL that can pull to the second level. He shined at Florida'S Friday Night Lights back in July and has been on their radar since. He showed good feet there, he is a natural bender, and he plays with an attitude. His balance and pass blocking are two areas he can improve on.

Ben Knox | OT | 6-5/265 | Deland (FL)
Knox

Scout's Take: Knox was not known until Saturday when he committed to the Gators, but based on early evals, UF got themselves a good one. He is very lean, so he will need to add weight, get stronger, and play with more power, but there quite a few things to like about him. He has good length, he fires off the ball, he plays with that flat-back, he gets in and out of his stance well, and he can move. He does not use his length to his advantage yet and he lets the defensive linemen get into his body, but that will get better over time. He has the frame you like to build on, he fires off the ball low, and he can drive the opponent off the ball.

Christian Miller | OLB | 6-3/205 | Columbia (SC) Spring Valley
Miller

Scout's Take: Miller is a long and rangy athlete that can play rush end or outside linebacker on the next level. He is a very smart player that reads his keys well, he gets himself into position to make plays, and he makes them on a regular basis. He can really contain the edge well, he is quick to the ball, and he is strongest when in pursuit. He is still light, so he needs to add significant weight, get stronger, and play better at the point of attack. He is best when playing off the ball and he can play in space and rush the passer from the two-point stance. Expect Florida to use him that way.
