CLEMSON - Devin Booker has a simple explanation for the impressive five-game run he’s turned in this month.

WHAT: Clemson at Florida State
WHERE: Donald L. Tucker Center - Tallahassee, Fla.
WHEN: Thursday, January 24 (8:05 p.m.)
SPREAD: Clemson +4.5
TV: ACC Network (Steve Martin, Mike Gminski)

“There are just a few games left [this season],” Booker said. “I’m just trying to make the best of it.”

Since Clemson opened ACC play against Florida State on the fifth, the senior forward is averaging 17 points and 10 rebounds per game.

“I’m just being more aggressive. I just wanted to step up, that’s what I’m trying to do. If we had somebody do that…everybody would follow behind,” Booker said.

Booker’s teammates will follow him down to Tallahassee on Thursday night when Clemson takes on Florida State at 8 on the ACC Network.

“[Booker’s] playing great. He's playing as well as any post player in our league,” Clemson coach Brad Brownell said. “It's been nice to see him do it consistently instead of just one or two games. To see him do it in five games, it speaks to how well he's playing."

In the first matchup versus Florida State, Booker scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Thursday’s rematch with Florida State will pit the two teams against one another for the second time in less than three weeks.

“I would probably prefer it to be a little later,” Brownell said. “It doesn’t really affect either team -- I don’t think…you just play when they are.

“Both teams have had time to get past the last game and try to get ready for this one. I’m sure they’re not happy with their last outing. We’re a little disappointed with ours as well.”

Michael Snaer and Okaro White are first and second among Florida State scorers, averaging 14.8 and 13.1 points, respectively.

“This will be a great test for our guys about getting after it again and really getting your motor going, getting ready to compete,” Brownell said. “When you watch Florida State…they have a couple of guys, Okaro White, Michael Snaer that really, sometimes, out-compete people.

“Their athleticism at so many positions -- size and length is really a problem for a lot of people.”

It contributed to Clemson’s struggles in the first half of game one. The Tigers shot 39 percent from the field and trailed by 13 at the half.

Clemson cut the second half margin to three five different times in the second half before losing 71-66.
