NOTES: Palmer Makes Plays

NOTES: Palmer Makes Plays

Here are some postgame notes from NC State's 38-24 loss to Vanderbilt.

• Tobais Palmer returned a second quarter kickoff 94 yards for a TD. Palmer is the first Pack player since Greg Golden in the 2001 Visit Florida Tangerine Bowl to return a kickoff for a score in a bowl game.

• The KO return for a score was also Palmer's second of the season, he returned one 100 yards for a tourchdown in the win over Wake Forest. Palmer is the first Pack player since Lamont Reid in 2002 to return two kickoffs for a touchdown in the same season.

• With his 173 kickoff return yards on the day, Palmer set a new NC State season record with 1,130 KOR yards for the season. Palmer and T.J. Graham (1,028 in 2008) are the only two Wolfpack players to go over 1,000 yards in kickoff returns in a single season.

• Palmer also went over 100 yards receiving for the third time this season, as he finished with 8 catches for 111 yards.

• Safety Earl Wolff finished the day with a team-best nine tackles on the day. He becomes the first Wolfpack DB to go over 400 for his career, as his career total of 400 is fifth-best in school history.

• With his 383 passing yards on the day, QB Mike Glennon went over the 300 yard mark for the sixth time this season, and the ninth time in his career. He now ranks third in both most 300 yard games in a season and also third in most for a career.

• NC State came into the game leading the nation in third-down conversion defense, as opponents had converted just 50-of-184 (27%) entering today. Vanderbilt went just 3-of-14 today on third downs. Recommended Stories
