McDonald leaves for Arkansas

University of Miami wide receivers coach George McDonald has taken the same position on the Arkansas staff.

Al Golden hired George McDonald soon after getting the job two years ago.

After a successful college coaching stint, McDonald spent some time with the Cleveland Browns before returning to the college ranks with the Hurricanes.

The Canes have dealt with a lot of injuries at the wide receiver position during McDonald's two seasons but he was a big reason why Tommy Streeter went from rarely playing under the old regime to being a difference maker in 2011.

McDonald also deserves credit for getting freshmen like Malcolm Lewis and Herb Waters ready to play so quickly in 2012.

No names have surfaced as possible replacements yet but we'll keep you updated. Recommended Stories
