Giant OT has ‘great' visit to Clemson
Orlando Brown was impressed, very impressed.
"It was great, definitely one of my favorites of the football season. I've been to Georgia and Auburn and Clemson in the Georgia Dome, but Saturday was a pretty memorable game," he told CUTigers.
The son of the late Orlando Brown, who played for the Ravens and Browns after starring at South Carolina State, Junior was already somewhat familiar with Clemson before he stepped foot onto the campus.
"I really didn't get an opportunity to check out the campus and the facilities," he said. "I know that on game day it gets really crazy in that little small town in Clemson, South Carolina.
"It was really, really cool."
Clemson's coaching staff welcomed him with open arms. Head coach Dabo Swinney, offensive coordinator Chad Morris and running backs coach Tony Elliott, the recruiter of note, all spoke to Brown.
How was the conversation with Swinney?
"Just about future visits, my future in high school and how much I can improve, and stuff like that."
Most of the conversation with Elliott was about the school. The two keep in regular contact on Facebook.
Brown currently holds over 30 offers, but he's still waiting to cut down that list to a more manageable number.
"Going into my senior season, I'm pretty sure I'll have a top five or a top three," he said.
A decision will "most likely" be made on signing day.
Earlier this year, Brown transferred to Peachtree Ridge High School [Suwanee, Ga.] after attending DeMatha High School in Maryland.
