With its sixth win of the season, NC State is now bowl eligible for the third straight year and four of the last five under Tom O’Brien.

• O’Brien improves to 8-1 at Carter-Finley against in-state opponents.

• NC State raised $25,216 for Toys for Tots today with cash donations at the gates, an all-time record collected for one game. In six years, NC State has raised over $200,000.

• After allowing 222.0 yards rushing over the last three games, the Pack held Wake to just 16 yards on the ground today. Wake also had 0 trips to the red zone.

• Freshman Shadrach Thornton finished with 110 yards rushing on 27 carries. His second career game over 100 yards.

• NC State started its sixth different offensive line combination through the first 10 games. Senior Andrew Wallace, the opening game starter at right tackle, started at right guard for the injured Duran Christophe. The Pack came into the game having started the same combo in three straight games.

• Senior safety Brandan Bishop recorded his second interception of the season in the second quarter, and the 11th for his career. His 11 career INTs gives him sole possession of sixth place in the NC State record books.

• NC State opened the day’s scoring with a 1-yd Tony Creecy rushing score at the 11:19 mark. The rushing TD was the first for the Pack since the Miami game.

• NC State scored first today for the first time since the Miami game. NC State is now 4-1 when scoring first this season.

• NC State outscored Wake Forest 17-0 in 1st quarter today. Entering today, the Pack had been outscored 68-21 in the first five ACC games, including being shutout in three of those games.

• Senior Tobais Palmer returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a 100-yard TD. The play ties a school record for longest kickoff return, as T.J. Graham in 2008 against Boston College is the only other player in Pack history to record a return of 100 yards. The kickoff return for a TD was also the Pack’s first since Graham had one against Duke in 2009.

• Sophomore PK Niklas Sade tied his career-high with 3 field goals on the day (38, 49, 35). He also kicked three field goals in the upset of #7 Clemson last year.

• Junior Asa Watson caught his first career TD pass, 26-yarder in the third quarter.
