Clemson commit and Lake Marion High (Santee, S.C.) wide receiver Mike Williams is putting up huge numbers. Through four games, he has 25 catches for over 700 yards and six touchdowns. Averaging close to 28 yards per catch, Williams is on pace for over 1,700 yards receiving.
Pharoh Cooper played wide receiver and cornerback last season. However this year, the Havelock (N.C.) star has moved to quarterback. The South Carolina commit has not missed a beat. Through five games, Cooper has thrown for over 1,200 yards, rushed for close to 400 yards, and accounted for 18 total touchdowns.
Byrnes High (Duncan, N.C.) wide receiver Akia Booker had a huge game on national television in week one, scoring five touchdown against Oscar Smith High (Chesapeake, Va.). Booker has continued his strong play, with close to 700 total yards of offense and 10 touchdowns in his team's first four games. He lists (in order) Tennesse, South Carolina, and Clemson as his top three schools.
Through three games, few high school running backs have better numbers than Josh Marriner. The Western Branch High (Chesapeake, Va.) standout has rushed for over 600 yards and seven touchdowns, while leading his team to a 3-0 start. Marriner is down to three schools – Old Dominion, Temple, and UConn.
Despite playing only playing in the first half of most games, LSU commit Lewis Neal is still putting up big numbers. In his team's 5-0 start, the Hunt High (Wilson, N.C.) defensive end/linebacker has 50 tackles, 11 sacks, one tackle for loss, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and two pass deflections.
After rushing for close to 1,900 yards last season, Elijah Hood is has been unstoppable in his first five games of the 2012 season. The 2014 Charlotte (N.C.) Catholic running back has 66 carries for 917 yards (close to 14 yards per carry) and 14 touchdowns. Hood is one of the top juniors in the country and already has double-digit scholarship offers.
2014 Davidson (N.C.) Day quarterback Will Grier is leading the Tar Heel State in passing. The junior signal-caller has already thrown for over 2,100 yards and 24 touchdowns in just five games. He already has six scholarship offers and is the one of the top junior quarterbacks in the country.
