Statistics: ran for 316 yards and tied his career high with five touchdowns (46, 33, 2, 68, and 82 yards) on 23 carries.
Quotable: "We just wanted to come out and be aggressive early," Logan told the News & Record. "They were a little bit overrunning the ball and my O-linemen, they kicked them out and I could go right up in there... The cutbacks were wide open, so I just kept cutting back, and when I saw daylight, I was going to run."

Statistics: scored a season-best five touchdowns -- four rushing (15, 5, 6, and 3), plus a 27-yard reception.
Quotable: "I'm a team-first guy," North told the Charlotte Observer. "The loss [to Butler in the season opener] was a wake-up call for us, that we've got to play better."

"That's what great players do -- they open things up for everybody else," Mallard Creek head coach Mike Palmieri told the Charlotte Observer. "We've got a bunch of good players. While North is exceptionally gifted, it's not going to take long for the other guys to take advantage of that."

Statistics: helped block for an offense that rushed for 261 yards and threw for 206, and six total touchdowns. Also had two tackles, including a sack, in limited action on defense.

Game Result: defeated Pearl River, 35-15.
 
Ryan Switzer – RB/DB - Charleston (W.Va.) Washington

Game Result: lost to Ashland (Ky.) Blazer, 21-14.
Notes: sat out the game recovering from a concussion suffered a week earlier.
 
Mitch Trubisky – QB - Mentor (Ohio)
Record: 2-0
Game Result:
defeated Erie (Pa.) McDowell, 34-27.
Statistics: passed for 411 yards and rushed for 86, including the go-ahead one-yard touchdown with 25 seconds remaining. He also scored on a six-yard run and converted a two-point conversion with 9:03 remaining. He completed 25-of-39 passes for 411 yards and three touchdowns.
Quotable: "We were really excited," Trubisky told the News-Herald of the fumble recovery that led to the winning drive. "We saw the ball hit the ground and jumped on it. We had a lot of trust in them to get the ball back. I think we had the momentum at the end. The offense came together, we put a drive together to go down and score.

"This was definitely a great game to play in. I'll remember this one forever. It's a good one to win. We'll have a better bus ride on the way back. It's good to come to Pennsylvania and come out with a 'W.' McDowell is a great team."
