Both players were able to play against some of the best college players in the country and showcase their skills to NBA scouts during the counselor workouts at IUPUI.
"It was a good week for me because I've just started coming back (from injury)," May said. "I was able to play against some of the best guys in the country like Arthur Johnson from Missouri, Shelden Williams from Duke and Channing Frye from Arizona. It was a good test for me to assess myself and see where I am among my peers."
McCants said the workouts weren't easy ones.
"We've had two-a-days, working hard," McCants said. "I'm not trying to work on my game too much just doing the little things, like passing and working on the pick-and-roll."
May was impressed with the talent level in the camp.
"I was here for two straight years, and it's good to come back and watch them," May said. "Brian Johnson impressed me a little bit. And the kid from Flint, Mich., Marquise Gray. JamesOn (Curry) is playing really well. But it's really hard to see what these guys can do because it isn't really a team situation."
McCants was Mr. Personality during the Nike Camp two years ago.
"I remember bonding with the guys and playing," McCants said. "I watched JamesOn whenever I could, and gave him a couple of tips. He's pretty good but has a ways to go. He'll be ready."
