Initially, Phillip Williamson was recruited to play linebacker for North Carolina. As Signing Day approached, the topic of playing Bandit in UNC's 4-2-5 defense was discussed more often. Now it appears that Bandit is the position where he will begin his Tar Heel career.

"They said if I come in, do what I got to do, work hard, I'll have a good chance of playing a lot this year," Williamson said. "I just have to work for it."
