Medical Hardship for N. Hurst

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- Senior tight end Nelson Hurst will receive a career-ending medical hardship, according to multiple sources close to the situation.

When contacted about Hurst's situation, a UNC official was unable to comment.

According to the sources, Hurst is suffering from serious back problems.

The Plainfield, Ind. native recorded 11 receptions for 160 yards and a touchdown during the 2011 season.

Hurst, whose brother is starting offensive lineman James Hurst, transferred to UNC from Mississippi State in 2009. Recommended Stories
