Feagles Leaves Team

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- Junior punter C.J. Feagles is no longer a part of the Tar Heel football program, a UNC official confirmed to InsideCarolina.com on Tuesday.

After red-shirting his freshman year, the Ridgewood (N.J.) native played in 12 games during the 2010 season, averaging 37.5 yards on 46 punts.

In 2011, walk-on Thomas Hibbard supplanted Feagles as UNC's regular punter. Feagles appeared in one game (against NC State), punting eight times for a 35.9-yard average.

Feagles's father, Jeff, played 22 seasons in the NFL and won a Super Bowl with the New York Giants. Jeff retired after the 2009 season as the NFL leader in career punts, punt yardage, and games played.
