Thomason Commits

Justin Thomason informed on Sunday morning that he has committed to UNC. The defensive end from McDonough (Ga.) Eagle's Landing Christian Academy was in Chapel Hill this weekend for his official visit.

Thomason, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound pass rusher, chose the Tar Heels over finalists Michigan State, Syracuse and Vanderbilt.

As a senior, Thomason played every position in ELCA's front seven and accumulated 109 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss, ten sacks, and two forced fumbles. He also had ten catches, including one for a touchdown, from his tight end position. ELCA went 12-1, losing in the semi-finals of the GHSA Class A playoffs.

He was named Class A First Team all-state for his accomplishments in 2011.
