CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- Quarterback Braden Hanson has graduated from North Carolina and will transfer to the University of North Dakota for his final year of eligibility, a UNC official confirmed Monday.

The Charlotte, N.C. native saw limited action during his first three years in Chapel Hill, and was No. 2 on the quarterback depth chart in 2011.

He appeared in six games in 2011, with his most significant contribution being a 7-of-13 passing performance for 87 yards in a loss to NC State after starter Bryn Renner was sidelined with an injury.

Since he redshirted in 2008, Hanson has one season of eligibility remaining.
