The previous staff was trying to land senior center Darryl Watkins, but it appears the new staff at UNC isn't as interested.
"They kept making excuses for not recruiting me," Watkins said. "They were saying my GPA and my SAT grade weren't enough to earn a scholarship. When I went down there, they said I was able to get a scholarship, now they're saying I'm not.
"I was leaning to Carolina, but [Rutgers] called me and I felt like going since my options opened back up to a lot more schools."
