The 6-4, 190-pound signal caller first visited UNC in May, and then had Tar Heel offensive coordinator and quarterback coach John Shoop at his high school the following week for an evaluation. A scholarship offer from UNC soon followed, with the Tar Heel coaching staff holding off issuing any more offers to quarterbacks until Robinette made his decision.
Robinette returned to Chapel Hill on Monday to participate in UNC's two-day summer camp.
He chose UNC over offers from Central Florida, Cincinnati, Memphis, Northwestern, Purdue, Southern Miss, and Vanderbilt.
As a junior, Robinette helped lead Maryville to a 15-1 record and the TSSAA 6A Championship, while completing 104-of-152 passes (68.4-percent) for 1,804 yards, 21 touchdowns, and just one interception. He also rushed for 971 yards and 11 touchdowns on 118 carries.
