Houston To Have Surgery

A UNC official confirmed to Inside Carolina that Ryan Houston suffered a broken shoulder blade (scapula) during Saturday's spring game and will have surgery on Thursday.

The length of time the senior running back will be out will be determined after his surgery.

The Charlotte, N.C. native led North Carolina with 713 rushing yards and nine touchdowns in 2009. Houston red-shirted last season after being held out of the first five games while UNC officials worked with the NCAA to determine his eligibility status.
